Baltimore Center Stage - "King of the Yees"

My first visit to Baltimore Center Stage for a comedy about an eccentric family patriarch written by his real life daughter.  The structure is of a play within a play that at times flows between the stage and the audience.  Over the course of play we are introduced to many stereotypes and many myth busters about Asians by an all Asian cast.  The play is that rare opportunity to experience excellent actors of Asian ancestry in non-token roles.  It was intricate and fast passed with lots of well-times humor.  The actors were each given wonderful opportunities to shine and three of the five played multiple characters.

The costumes were fine and the sets minimal and beautifully crafted.  The key piece being a door that mostly floated over the action like a silent 6th actor on the stage.  I thoroughly enjoyed the play. For Baltimore friends, its playing for the next two weeks.
