Attended her DC kick-off to this years tours on Saturday evening. Stephanie Miller is a syndicated progressive radio talk show host and does live event with John Fugelsang and various guests. The first part of the evening is a series of comedy sets, and second is a panel of experts discussing the current state of politics from a liberal point of view.
Besides herself and John they had Darrell Hammond from SNL fame to round out the first half. Both Stephanie and John were fine, but Darrell was wonderful! Really worth the price of admission. The Panel included them and Charlie Pierce from Esquire and Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me fame, Malcolm Nance a regular commentator on MSNBC and FOX (He was on Joy Reid's show that morning, for example), Fernand Armadi a commentator and national progressive polster, and Bob Cesca another progressive blogger and journalist.
The show is billed as the "sexy" liberal tour, however, the liberal far "outweighed" the sexy if you catch my drift. I have the good fortune of sitting next to a couple from Montana, no shit. She had a work related conference in DC that coincided with the tour and he convinced her to extend through the weekend so he could join her and they attend. That's called devotion. It's the sort of devotion that Stephanie inspires in her "Steph-head" fans. She has two more stops in this pre-midterms sweep: Chicago and Los Angeles. I think Margaret Cho is headlining with Steph and John at those events. It's definitely a fun evening and worth the effort if you need inspiring.
