National Aquarium: Entrance

Saturday was a cold crisp winter day, and that was one of the reasons I chose to visit the National Aquarium.  Also having just been to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey last weekend, I was just in an Aquarium mood.

As you can see from the maps, the National Aquarium is made up of three major structures over two piers with a crosswalk between them.  Turning the bottom image 90˚ to the right would align the two.

Finding local parking, buying my ticket, discovering the entrance and experiencing it were all easy.  The first impression you have is a multi-storied waterfall pouring into a large pool full of beautiful native Maryland fish.

You can see parts of the Australia Wild Extremes exhibit through the glass.

The multi-story waterfall pouring into the Maryland river ecosystem tank.
Brook Trout as large as Salmon!  Is it wrong that I thought of fillets?
 Another perspective on the entrance.
Just outside the entrance is a World War II Submarine that you can visit, but is not part of the National Aquarium.
