MLGZoo: African Adventures

 

My Little Garden Zoo 2023 continues with animal species who call Africa home.  Additions will continue to be made as the season progresses.  The 18 species previously presented on Sunday, April 30 in the Asian Trail section are now joined by 18 species from across Africa.  Sections of MLGZoo also represent Australia, and the Americas.  Images of those species will be forth coming throughout the month of May.

GRANT'S PLAINS ZEBRA
Equus quagga boehmi

RANGE
There are 3 species of zebra: Grevyi, Quagga, and Zebra.  The most common are the Quagga or which there are 6 subspecies, and the Grant's Zebra is one.

Asian Cheetah, Acinonyx jubatus venaticus, was down to 12 individuals as recently as 2022.  It's extinction is eminent.
