Memorial Day Weekend usually marks the formal opening of My Little Garden Zoo and signals the end of active additions to the collection. Yet, I will still putter from time to time. With these additions, the African Adventures portion of the zoo now shares 25 or the 99 species current resident.
RANGE
There are 3 sub-species of this gazelle. The Addra, the Dama, and the Mhorr. The Dama is the nominative member, and is extremely rare in the wild, and only kept in one zoo in the United Arab Emirates. Both the Addra and the Mhorr are part of Species Survival programs in zoos across the North America, Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East. The Mhorr subspecies is extinct in the wild.
