Maryland Zoo: Renovation

The Maryland Zoo is in the midst of an 18 month renovation of it's African Savannah habitats for it's African Lions, Reticulated Giraffe and African Elephants.  The end results will be a vast expansion of the habitats of all three species and the ability to grow the African Elephant herd either through lie births or adding animals from other zoos.  The zoo's already demonstrated great success in breeding giraffes and their lion pair is prime to breed as well with a recommendation from the AZA.
