April 30 (yesterday) was more than blustery...it was downright harrowing! While at work, Mother Nature rampaged all day and into the night with strong winds and stronger gusts. The results were leaves, twigs, a branch with leaves, petals, flowers from trees (cherry, maple and river birch) detritus of all natural sorts blanketing the deck. Planters toppled, animals askew, one African Lion cub MIA! I eventually found it under a bunch of hostas in the garden off the deck--hiding, no doubt, and who can blame it? The winds even blew the aquarium gravel out of some of the "habitats!" It was a to-do. Much cleaning and gathering and reassembling...even a little rethinking and moving around resulted.
I have figurines for over 200 species. It's always a choice as to what comes out for display. In setting things up, there are also times when something is retired part way through a season to make room for something new. Where things stand now by continent with today's additions highlighted. Welcome to My Little Garden Zoo, it's just beginning.
