To celebrate the bicentennial year of the National Botanical Gardens in 2020, they have commissioned North carolina-based artist Patrick Dougherty to create one of his fantastical woven sculptures. This behemoth of twisted and tangled branches and limbs seem to form some unified living beast complete with catacombs to explore.
