The Sackler Gallery of Asian Art: Encountering the Buddha--Art and Practice Across Asia

Another exhibition at the Sackler Gallery of Asian Art explores the influence of Buddhism across Asia's many diverse cultural tapestry.  Very intriguing and full of beautiful objects.  I will share with you some that caught my eye.

The image of the Medicinal Buddha from Indonesia

A replica of a Tibetan Buddhist Shrine Room

Pilgrim Temple Tokens known as, Tsa-tsa.  They are left by pilgrims at temples to prove their journey, others may take them home to commemorate the experience.

This display shows some of the major holy sites for Buddhism across Asia.

A Stele from Northern China decorated with the Thousand Buddha motif
