Maryland Zoo (Fantasy) Master Plan: Intro

Other play Candy Crush, I design fantasy Zoos or up-grades to existing Zoos for fun and relaxing in my off time.  Here are two general images of my latest design adventure centered around the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore (A very fine zoo, BTW, as is!)

This is a generalization of the current zoo's footprint.  Established in 1878 as America's 3rd Zoological Gardens, the Maryland Zoo (then the Baltimore Zoo) in Baltimore is a mid-sized zoo.  It sits in the heart of Druid Park and much of its original footprint is off limits to the public.  Over the years, it has expanded and upgraded past this area until today it is a zoo who main area is separated from its original entrance by a good clip.

My fantasy Master Plan utilizes some of this to establish an entirely new series of habitats along a corridor that is now only used as a footpath into the present zoo.  But transforming this area, I am also greatly expanded the zoos marque holdings and creating a whole new focus for animal husbandry excellence.
Other upgrades include less extravagant ones to the Arctic and Global Farm areas.

In the African area, I propose a major overhaul to the Chimpanzee Forest habitats to more than double their exterior habitat and add exterior habitats for another existing species as well as a new one.  The three Madagascar based primates would have their own indoor/outdoor structure.

These and many other upgrades are imagined in my fantasy game.  More details to follow.
