Another pair of large habitats at the Maryland Zoo are also part of the African Journey. They appear to be joined, but are so naturally separated that don't even think about it. On the one side you have Lesser Kudu, Addra Gazelles and Saddle-billed Storks. On the other you will find Southern White Rhinoceros, Burchell's Zebra and Common Ostrich. On any given day some are there and some are not. All the animals have the choice when to come out and when to remain in their enclosures for the most part.
There are times when the Kudu or Addra are rutting when one gender or the other are kept apart. On this lovely day, everyone by the Addra were out and about. You can see from the first image how spacious they are, as well.
