Lehigh Valley Zoo 0 Schnecksville, PA: part 4 of 5 (from June 26)

The final area of the zoo is dedicated to animals from North America.  There are some more smaller mammals on the bottom of the rise, a Black-tailed Prairie Dog town, both Bobcats and Canadian Lynx, a series of raptor bird species and a large habitat for a pack of Mexican Grey Wolves.  Another endangered species that they are involved in breeding.
Prairie Dog town complete with a wagon wheel and somewhere out there is longhorn skull!

The Mexican Grey Wolf habitat with a spring and flowing stream is like an alpine meadow.  The wolves were all nestled together sleeping up under the trees.

As you walk along the crest of the path toward the entrance complex you have a series of 4 or 5 large aviaries with various raptors and owls.

The final habitat is an island habitat (rather fitting) and home to the zoo's Mongoose Lemurs--another species that the zoo is working with an SSP in their behalf.  On this day, I couldn't spot any, but they certainly have a lot of options for privacy.
