Cape May County Zoo - NJ: part 1 of 5 (from July 9)

A lovely mid-sized zoo on the mid-Atlantic east coast is the Cape May County Zoo on the edge of Cape May Courthouse in New Jersey.  A member of the AZA and also very involved in the organization's SSP programs.

The zoo is part of a larger park system and it's free to the public.  When you enter you have two places to start.  On your left is a primate facility with two species and on your right is the zoo's petting zoo.

 The Primate Point structure is for animal holding, but has two viewing areas for the animals when they are inside by choice, or inclement weather.

 There are also three large external habitats that the animals can use and that provide them with options.  A group of three Howler Monkeys share this enclosure.

Around the back of the structure you can see the animals from many angles.

 The de Brazza Monkey from Africa is the other primate species in the zoo's collection.

The farm zoo area featured Vietnamese Potbelly Pigs, goats and a cow.  The animals had spacious pens and the goats were quite popular hungry critters get lots of attention from younger guests.
